Budapest : Day 4

Sadly, it was our last day from this historical city and so we decided to visit the last few tourist areas before we leave for our flight at night. Grabbed some souvenirs from the Central Market and we headed to discover the Buda side of Budapest !

We went for the famous Fisherman's Bastion which was near the Castle District, or you can say it is part of the District. Note that this beautiful architecture was not part of a Hungarian history, but was built for tourist around 2000s if I'm not mistaken. Beyond that, it was spectacular. You could see the view of almost the whole of Budapest from here !

We then checked out the Buda Castle which was about 15 minutes of walk, didn't feel that long though honestly but I think because we were in a big group, it took us a while yet we were distracting each other from the long walk. Haha. Anyways, just an introduction, the Buda Castle was a fortress but is currently hosting museums. It was definitely a short visit at Buda Castle for us, unless if you wanna check out the museums.

Took a bus to Citadella ; the highest point in Budapest which was not that far from the Buda Castle. I would reckon about 20 minutes away by public transport. It would have been great for you to check out the place before and after sunset but we didn't manage to catch the daylight view as we did some food hunting before. Oh yes ! Before I forget, the hike up to the top would take about 30 minutes so yes, try not to carry much stuff up there.

The view was definitely worth the hike, priceless !

And so that was it ! The end of my winter break and a great start of 2015 ! Budapest is definitely one the places I would love to visit again as I really love the history this beautiful city holds. Overall, including accommodation, transportation and flight tickets, it was about 300 Pounds for the whole trip which and every quid was worth it :)
